Our purpose is rooted in chesed, learning, and meaningful connection.
By supporting synagogue life and fostering a warm environment, we ensure that every woman finds her place within our vibrant community. Together, we celebrate our traditions and build a lasting legacy for future generations.
The Sisterhood brings women together to support the shul, each other, and the wider community.

Bikur Cholim – Caring for Our Community
The mitzvah of Bikur Cholim (visiting and caring for the sick) is one of the most meaningful ways we support one another as a community.
Our Bikur Cholim Committee strives to provide comfort, encouragement, meals, visits, phone calls, and practical assistance to those who are ill, recovering, or facing medical challenges.
If you or a loved one could benefit from support, or if you would like to volunteer to help, please contact us.
Together, we can ensure that no member of our community feels alone during difficult times.
“May Hashem send a complete recovery among all the sick of Israel.”
(Refuah Shleimah b’toch sha’ar cholei Yisrael.)
Our programs feature topics with Jewish themes, issues of interest to women, and subjects relevant to our local community.
Throughout the year, Sisterhood sponsors and participates in a variety of events and activities. In December, we join with Beth David’s Men’s Club to co-sponsor our annual Chanukah celebration. In the spring, we host a Passover workshop, and on the second day of Shavuot, we sponsor a festive holiday luncheon.
Sisterhood members also play an important role in synagogue life by helping to provide and set up weekly Shabbat Kiddushim, creating opportunities for congregants and visitors to gather in fellowship after services.
Membership is open to all Jewish women, whether or not they are members of Beth David Synagogue. Annual dues are $25. Guests, non-members, and men are always welcome to attend our programs and meetings.
We warmly invite you to join us and become part of our vibrant and welcoming community.
